There’s been so many times I got it so wrong
And a couple that I got it just right
I’ve seen the view from the top of the world
And the sorrow by the bitter graveside
I’ve seen some prayers get answered
And I’ve heard my share of no’s
But there’s never been a moment that You let me go
I’ve been uptown
I’ve been downtown
In the spotlight
I’ve been broke down
I’ve seen so much
Might not know much
But there ain’t nothin’ sweeter than His love
In the good times
Through the hard times
Filled my pockets full of sunshine
I’ve seen so much of the good stuff
But there ain’t nothin’ sweeter than His love
I graduated from the school of hard knocks
But there’s some lessons that I haven’t quite learned
One thing I know is You’ve been so kind to me
Sweeter than a man could ever deserve
‘Cause we got that love
From up above
And if it’s all we ever get we got enough
Better hold on tight ya’ll
No matter what
We got that never gonna leave us kind of love
That sunset on those Tennessee hills
Got me countin’ a blessing or two
Those moments in time
The best in my life
They all come from You
I’ve been uptown
I’ve been downtown
In the spotlight
I’ve been facedown
I’ve seen so much
Might not know much
But there ain’t nothin’ sweeter than His love
In the good times
Through the hard times
Filled my pockets full of sunshine
I’ve seen so much of the good stuff
But there ain’t nothin’ sweeter than His love
Ain’t nothin’ sweeter
Nothin’ sweeter, no
Ain’t nothin’ sweeter
Nothin’ sweeter
No, there ain’t nothin’ sweeter than His love
When we came to GPF 5 months ago, he was willing to help us heal as we had just come out of very hurtful church experience. Each week his family opens their home for worship (this means rearranging furniture and setting up chairs…then the take-down at the end). In addition, his wife would make us a wonderful breakfast each week! He and his 2 daughters are in the midst of grief as their beloved wife/mom recently died. Despite that, he continues to open his home for worship and for fellowship as well as being willing to come alongside the GPF body. He is selfless and truly is the shepherd of the church that God has given him. Our family has been blessed by his love, the hospitality of Pastor Troy, Alyssa, CJ and Nyia. We are grateful for a pastor that has led us through difficult times, who has encouraged us and taken our family under his care as he has committed to do for each member of the GPF flock.
