May 17 @ 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm
The Hibbing Alliance Church is hosting a regional conference, “Who is Our Neighbor?” with a focus on Indigenous Peoples. Pastor Mark Little Elk will be presenting sessions on history, culture, and considerations for serving and praying for our Indigenous neighbors. Little Elk grew up on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota, and has a personal story of addiction, struggle, and tragic loss. He says he was saved and set free by God’s grace, graduated from Oak Hills Christian College, and is now the lead pastor at Cass Lake Alliance Church.
Doors open at 1:30. Sessions run from 2-5pm and snacks and beverages are included. Regional faith-based ministries will display a variety of local resources. The event includes a complimentary fry-bread taco dinner at 5:30. Pre-registration is required due to limited seating, $10/person through April 30th and $15/person thereafter. The day wraps up with a community worship service at 7pm featuring MN Teen and Adult Challenge from Duluth.
